A Christening as soft as a sheep

A Christening as soft as a sheep

This precious sheep themed Sofia's Christening was submitted by Tamiris Ramos of Era uma Vez.

Tamiris Ramos about planning the party:

Sheeps are religious symbols. In the Bible, are mentioned several times in reference to us who are shepherded by God. Thinking about it, the Christening of Sofia was created with this cute and delicate theme.

Christening Ideas about the Sheep themed Christening:

Sheeps are not frequent guests at themed christenings, but when they are invited to become the guest of honor, they never fail to create a cozy atmosphere that just radiates tenderness. A special theme like this is particularly appropriate for a christening celebration, since white sheeps symbolize gentleness, innocence and purity, and in Christianity, the lamb is known as a symbol of Christ, "the Lamb of God".

When making sheep decorations, paper, wool and cotton balls will be your main helpers. Paper sheeps are more than enough for invitations, place cards, labels, and favor boxes or bags, but you can make them even warmer by adding clouds of wool. Meanwhile, felted lambs would be perfect as distinguishing badges for guests, especially since they can double as a wonderful memento for your guests. Although if you are on better terms with a crochet hook, you can by all means use them to make your sheeps. Or perhaps you'd like to make them from yarn, beads or modelling clay? Let your imagination run wild!

When decorating the table or the venue, you can take advantage of material dotted with sheeps – for example, you can cut out the little animals and incorporate them into the decor, or cleverly spread or fasten lengths of the fabric itself. A great solution for decorating the venue would be to use paper sheeps cut out according the hand print of the child being baptized and dressed in cotton fur – a warm and sentimental individual decoration like this will double as a lovely memento for your christening guests. By the way, you can also give sheep-shaped natural wax candles as favors – placed next to each plate, they will liven up the table as well.

Selecting a sheep theme for baby’s Christening gives you plenty of options for presenting refreshments. For example, you can use sheeps as a charming decoration for cupcakes, you can bake sheep-shaped cookies and glaze them with white icing, or you can order a spectacular cake that reflects the theme. Another idea is to make miniature lambs from sweets, using Raffaello candy to make the body, white dragée for the head, long sprinkles for the ears, and coconut shavings for fur. A sheep-shaped cake made of dough "wool" balls also looks incredibly nice. Or perhaps you'll decide to let a little marzipan lamb "graze" on each one of the guest's plates?

Sheeps made from cauliflower are a wonderful way to embellish a savory table. It would be great if you managed to coordinate these edible decorations with the menu and serve them in each plate, but you can also just use them to decorate certain dishes or as part of a miniature sheep pin that you can set up in the middle of the table.

Wishing you a warm and gentle christening!
