Although this happens after the christening, it can be a really nice touch to send out thank you cards after the event. The chances are that the guests to your christening will bring your son/daughter a gift, so you'll want to thank them.
Thank You Card Designs
You can opt for just standard thank you cards and write out a little thank you note inside each one. The chances are you won't have time to personalise each card because you'll have so many to send, but a standard thank you message can be enough. If you want to personalise cards then you can look at getting them printed with a picture of your cherub taken at the christening. Getting cards like this is relatively inexpensive and can be a really nice way of saying thank you.
What To Include
Make sure that you include the date of the christening. Your thank you card will probably become a keepsake so the date is important. It can be a really nice gesture to send the card from your child rather than from you. Something along the lines of "Thank you for coming to my christening and for your lovely gifts. I had a great day and I hope you did too xx" can be enough to get the point across.
When To Send Them
If you are having thank you cards custom made then this can take a little longer. Most people would expect to receive a thank you card within 2 weeks of the event so try to get the ball rolling on your printing as quickly as possible. Of course there is nothing to stop you saying thank you before that, just make sure that you get the cards made and sent off as quickly as you can do. If you are using standard thank you notes then you can even buy these before the big day and just write them out afterwards, which means you should be able to get them sent off quickly.
